Re: The new Alpine topic - Reflections

Postby MikeA37 » Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:47 pm

Various reviews have commented on the reflections from the dash on the windscreen, especially in low sun. Can really get bad in some conditions.
Anyone got suggestions for a solution (other than sunglasses!! ). Wondering about some matt finish protection film on the dash by demisting slots?
Any ideas?

Doesn’t seem to be an issue on the PE with a matte finish on the binnacle - I think the Legende and S might have a gloss finish which would be an issue

Mines a 2019 Pure, and the top of the dash, with the demist vents, is a sort of leather effect dimply hard plastic. It's that slightly satin finish hard plastic found in many car interiors.
It's not really an issue with the carbon effect instrument binnacle cover.
Would be surprised if the surface differed on any A110?

Matt on the Pure/PE gloss on the Legende if I remember rightly. Didn't notice on the S

The S has the matt CF finish as per the Pure. I find reflections no worse than many other cars...

Was at my dealer having my 3rd service on my blue PE and saw an interesting colour comparison.

I’d been wondering what a lighter met blue (more like the original A110) would look like.

They happened to have this - a Pure in Alpine Heritage Blue from the atelier collection sitting next to a Pure in the same blue as my PE (can’t remember what colour of blue it is) and, whilst I know that colour is a very personal thing, I thought this lighter shade of blue looked god-awful (thankfully).

Now if they’d had a Tulipe Noire with white (yes - check on the configurator!) Legende wheels, and grey-stitched black seats, I’d have possibly been getting my wallet out :-)

PS: if you look at my signature, you’ll see I have “form” in the colour-choice department.

CB
Renault 5 Turbo2 (previously) - met. brown
Renaultsport Clio V5 255 (previously) - met. red
Alpine A110 Première Édition - met. blue
