New noise from behind the cockpit!

Postby mikegta » Mon Feb 27, 2006 8:16 pm

Unfortunately not a good one.

Just set off tonight and when I slow down form say from 5-10mph there is a strange scraping sound followed by what sounds like a ping pong ball dropping on concrete.

I don't think it's the brakes, just when I decellerate.

Had a look with work lamp and given everthing a wiggle but dunno!

My neighbours just been out with me listening in the back seat, he puts money in the baffles in the cat.

I won't be able to do much till the weekend now. I hope it is the exhaust as I need a new system anyway.

Sorry to hear that your car is not purrrring like normal.
Take your neighbours money quick, show him some doubt, he may double it.

There are only 3 D502 cars (GTA turbo with CAT) made in RHD. All other GTAs (D501) do not have a CAT, except the Le Mans which all had cats.

From the home page, see the cars, GTA.

Just under the table of production numbers.....
"The rarest RHD GTA derivative is the narrow body D502 (sorry wide-bodied Le Mans owners!) with only 3 right hand drive vehicles produced. If you own one of these cars you probably don't even know, but should be able to recognise it by the catalytic converter (or of course the oval plate). If you have a late registration GTA Turbo, go out and have a look!"

But could equally be the exhaust rusting away internally.

LOL,

Mike, just remember that anything that runs on gas (eg gasoline etc) will make funny noises every now and again.

That's why women are such funny things.

The analogies between cars and women are endless, but I'm not going there...

I have a Mondeo and an Alpine on the side.
