The turbo us a hybrid T3/4 and good for 20psi of boost which takes the engine beyond the 300hp barrier with ease. :( :(

A rare find, and currently still outside in the cold (!) is this extremely rare Renault Alpine GTA V6 Turbo - or at least what's left of it! The engine will find its way into the back of a DeLorean at some point, and the Gearbox is also very useful, although not quite the same as a DeLorean's

Lee....they are talking about a 3 litre version with all the bits done and a fully mappable ECU....so its basically the same spec as Tony's car is going to be....tuned A610 engine (although Tony hasnt totally bitten the bullet and gone for cams yet) so it should acheive the magic 300bhp mark.
What they dont say is where theyve got their figures from or how far beyond 300bhp they think it can go! Its a short 'what if' tuning article on a website......if you had enough money to throw at your car I'm sure you could hit the 300bhp mark for less than the £8500 they quote for this beast....start saving!! :D

I have done now! It sounds like he has the idle set too low! I bet the car is vibrating like mad......my car sounds the same if I wind the throttle back to stalling point!

Thats my engine!

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Mar 03, 2006 3:08 pm

They have my engine on there cheeky buggers! Its the usual estimated power - they haven't done one so they don't know! Well I should be getting my car back soon so I'll know. I won't be running 20 psi though! It could run it (low comp/strong turbo/chargecooler/mapped ignition) but I will be erring strongly on the side of safety as I've waited over 2 years for the thing to be finished and I haven't got any money to fix it if it blows up

Steve, Martin from Delorean got most of that info from talking to me.

I will be supplying him with the turbos, management, chargecooler systems and other modifications if he ever does a tuned V6 Turbo..

With the utmost respect to him, but he is yet to fit and get running a standard V6 Turbo engine to a Delorean, yet do a tuned hybrid version.

His info on there, is so if somebody has enough money he could offer an engine to them. They don't do any machine work or custom fabrication there...

The 'engine' specs on there are hypothetical. I too could say on my site 400bhp for x amount, ..but I don't.
