Just a small A310 question - about wheels

Postby covert » Mon Aug 08, 2005 5:02 am

Hello fellow alpine owners out there, I watch the forum and get excited over the near future Renault WSR Donington extravaganza all you UK owners will get to go to soon, please when you are there, can you take lots of good photos and maybe even some videos and have an area up on the forum for overseas enthusiasts to see...... it will be a long time before any event like that reaches our shores here downunder.....

Anyhow I was wondering I saw this photo, and one problem in owning a early A310 3stud is the choice of wheels, or lack of them. PLS, Gotti all sound good, but they are rare and $$$$, as a alternative a few cars here in australia run minilite?? alternatives yet all the wheels seem to be 13/14 inch wheels which seem small anf if you want a 16/17inch wheel which is a bit more modern, sorry your out of luck.

But I have been wondering if it is possible to change the 3stud pattern to a later 4stud a310 pattern.

The suspension is different, early A310 is R20/30 I think and later A310 is a R5 variation, both are totally different to each other. Some people have said change the whole hub over to a more modern alternative. Others say get a whole new custom wheel made up to suit.......

The Photo has a early a310 with the rubber bumpers but is running 4 stud wheels..... As anyone over there in europe seen this, are there conversions that are possible.....

Just a small question..... Regards Volker

I'm not much of a techy, but the 3 stud is an Alpine suspension (not R30). Some of the Very early A310s had the A110 1600 four studs suspension.

Anything can be done by an engineering co, but I think custom wheels are probably cheaper.

Ole has made the change from 3 to 4 himself. You are welcome to contact me at klaus@rejkjaer.com, and I will forward your mail to Ole.
