Water pump

Postby trevbeadle » Wed Oct 09, 2013 10:51 am

Can someone please quote me the Renault part number for the water pump for a1988 GTA turbo 2450cc. Presumably I can fit this with the engine in situ if I remove the silencer box?

Part number is 60 00 007 682. Be sat down and a hanky to hand though if you walk into Renault.

They are the same as the R25 V6 Turbo and I think the Atmo has the same pump fitted to but others can confirm? You might be able to track one down through a motor factors.

This looks very similar but the pully might be different:

Yes you can change it in situe, even I did the job once so you should be OK if your are handy with the spanners...

I have a 2007 invoice in my files (bought by last but one owner) for a FWP1400..which seems to tally with the last eBay link.
I think Lee has put a new one on that lump as part of the rebuild (after the fire damage)

That FWP1400 (firstline water pump..I guess) according to google has a 7701 463 246 renault equivalent part number..

You just have to watch out for the Espace version which can have a diff thread/boss assembly where the ECU sensor goes .
BigM link looks OK as there is no extended adaptor and poss AlpyAndy link if you remove the adapter RHS ..Can't be 100% on that as
I know I modded one ages ago but think that had a fixed pipe extension that I had to machine off and tap out .

Hi Trevor..how did you get on with the pump replacement. I only ask as a chap, Glen, from the avantime owners forum asked about a waterpump for a gta turbo. I pointed him at this thread...

Others..any definitive guidance to water pumps...it sounds like the espace v6 route can be a bit hit and miss and require machining....but maybe that's the best path ?

Dave,
since Clee had the car and replaced the coolant, and the car passed its mot and has been used a bit, the noise from the pump has disappeared!! Am leaving well alone!!!

The parts manual list 60 00 007 682 for the Z7U engine (which I believe is the turbo version), but also states 60 00 007 563. The last part number has a "+" (more like a cross) alongside, so not ever so certain what that signifies.
