Parts for Alpine GTA

Hi All
Ive just got my 1st Alpine GTA,Its a 1987 turbo model,Num 1981.RHD.
Its had a full shell respray in it life from maroon to yellow.Its not a bad one a few minor jobs and it will look the part.Rocker cover gaskets need replacing but thats easy to use Reno 25 ones.My main problem is the speedo has packed up!My local reno garage have tryed to help in getting me a speedo cable but no luck yet , its a d501 model and ive been told mech speedo .Even thought they have Emailed France.(So they say).Does any one no a good suplier of parts?Or have one they are brakeing?

Are you sure you need a new cable? Speedo faults are common on the GTA and can often be traced to a loose connector behind the dash on the right of the clocks. Check this thread:

when my grandad bought his it had a speedo fault so the garage replaced the full lot at a cost of around £600 :shock: they also said renault had just reduced them to that price and it should have been a lot more :shock:

You can get the whole instrument pod from Simon Autos in Germany for about £250......but you should check clean all the wiring first as its most likely to be that. I had the same problem and found a little bit of rewiring sorted it.

the prices i qouted were from 1997,but £250 aint a bad price for a complete unit
Renault Spider, Marcos Mantis, TR6...
