A610 sills

Hi


Just had an MOT today and the car passed but with an advisory on the state of the sills.The advise I received to effect repairs to the sills when they become to bad was ,remove the carpets and seats then cut out the inner sill to set new metal in from inside.Has anyone heard of this?Is the outer sill metal or plastic .Any advise appreciated also any garages that have experience doing the sills on these cars.

Yes ,they all have rot in the sills ...every one I've had in has needed sill work ....We must have had 7 or 8 in the past two years .Also can extend into the footwells,often bodged with sealant etc .This one just finished .
