Engine Number

Postby jaimiew » Mon Oct 10, 2005 3:14 pm

I need to find out the engine number for my GTA Turbo. I have been told that it should be on an Ali plate mounted on the engine block, but I have crawled all over it and can't locate it anywhere. Can someone please advise where this plate is, or if it has been removed or fallen off, is there a database that I can get access to which will have it logged.

You need to put the car up on a ramp and stick your head up between the passenger side rear wheel and the engine. The engine number is on the plate on the engine block, above the wishbone.

On A310s I think it's stamped on the cylinder head, just to the right of the water pump.

Wow! Is there anything out there the man can't source?

We should have a new section - Challenge David

I'd test you out David but I'm in Pau France and so I wouldn't be able to confirm your answer.

3 days in France so far and not a single sight of an Alpine, shows what a rare beast they are even over here. Still it impressed some of the guys here at Total 'Ah un Alpeeen'. Instant street cred. 8)
