Maybe it is because the driver is not wearing a seat belt?

If Alpine are switched on, they should use this to their advantage. - We wanted to show you how much fun the car could be, but we aren't allowed - etc. :thinking

Another reference on Alpine Planet

Alpine tackled unfairly by the equivalent of the CSA in the UK!

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has confirmed a complaint following the message posted on the Alpine UK Twitter account.

The reason ? An unfortunate tweet by Alpine Cars UK, released on March 8, 2017, with the famous video presentation of the new Alpine A110 with at its wheel Nicolas Lapierre at the Col de Turini. Associated with this post, Alpine said: "The mountains and winding roads: the Alpine A110 in its favorite playground". A rather insignificant message for us aficionados of the automotive world. Within the ASA, the message made them totally twist!

Following this tweet, the ASA fears that the video "advocates dangerous driving", with "high-speed passages" on mountain roads and a "borderline" driving with slight drifts in the hairpin bends.

Alpine defends himself naturally by pointing out that the emphasis on video, which has now been removed, wanted to demonstrate "agility and maneuverability". The car used was still in the prototype stage; its speed was deliberately limited to 90 km / h and was filmed on a closed road under the supervision of the Automobile Club of Monaco.

In any event, the ASA confirmed the complaint by saying that it "considered that speed and acceleration were the main messages of the announcement, that some of the tweet involved excessive speed and encouraged and tolerated irresponsible and potentially dangerous conduct ". Strong and unjust words!

Alpine obviously proposed to modify the post accordingly with a warning message that this video was shot in a secure (closed road) with a professional pilot on its steering wheel and that the public should not duplicate this type of conduct. Inflexible, the ASA considered that such a message would be insufficient and that the announcement should never appear in its current form.

The ASA is not on its first call to order, an investigation was also opened following the broadcast of the Jaguar F-Type TV spot in June 2017 for the same reasons.

On behalf of the editorial staff, we send this message directly to the Advertising Standards Authority:

Relax, take a valium and let passion express itself.

It does seem rather odd that ad gets binned but the Honda Civic 2017 ad with a girl rock climbing (without a safety line being seen) and looking at a car appears to be OK. :thinking
