How much for these car?

Postby xranalli » Sun Sep 24, 2017 2:55 pm

Dear friend
I've question for you:
in your opinion the value of our cars (I've a A310 ph2 for example) remains or increase if we mantain all components original or if we improve something but in the righ way and profesionnaly (as I see usually in this forum)?
In Italy for example there is a sort of certification body called ASI that certify that the car is perfectly original, my car has PLS wheels and they do not accept them maybe...and diffused car magazine recommend to have ASI certification :thinking
So I would like understand how it works in UK and in other places
thanks

In the UK we are fine with modified cars. As long as they pass an annual MOT they can be driven on the road however modified they maybe. As for value it's hard to be conclusive, originality, rarity, mileage and condition will always be the main drivers. If a car has sensible period modifications, or changes that make the car better or more usable it doesn't seem to affect Alpine prices too much. Some other marques are very anal about such things. I suppose it comes down to whether you want the car as an investment or to use and enjoy. GTAs are much more fun with 300 bhp than 200 after all :0)

Modifications usually ok in the uk as long as they are declared.

A new rule is due to be introduced in May 2018 for historic cars 40+ years old. For mot exemption car must be unmodified since 1988 and no more than 15% extra power. Could be a sign of things to come.

These A310's are the next big thing. They will rocket up in value, especially if you have a special one. :silent

It's only an mot, and how on earth are they going to find out the date when modifications where carried out or when the was Hp improved. The problem with the 310 in the U.K. is its a left hand drive, if you were going to spend 20/30 grand on a classic car as an investment and an occasional drive, I think the bulk of people would want a RHD car.
But i have been thinking about doing some classic events in the Eu, and it is interesting that most of them the cut of year for eligibility 1974 some 1976.

That's the one someone seems to have made a 610 look like a Gta

Just looks like a yellow GTA to me. Worst colour and worst interior trim IMO obviously :0). Surely a misprint, has done 80000 km so probably just a typo.

I'm not so sure, on the continent maybe but don't think they will in the UK.

So...I'm thinking to mount a GTA turbo or PRV 3.0L inside my 310...but I've to change my plan
otherwise I loose a lot of money... :thinking

btw I think that the yellow Alpine
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C917833
is a GTA, not 610, it is a mistake

If you do it without damaging the car and keep the parts you remove, what’s the harm?

There is a guy in Norway who has done this, I don't have any details but I remember the car was up for sale a couple of years back.
