Pretty much every forum I've ever been on 'offered me this sort solution for information'.
Usually the technical info is in the members section of the forum and I can only get access by joining the club.

I would have thought it perfectly reasonable to restrict the technical information to be restricted to members only. It takes years of experience to build up this knowledge.

If you took your car to a specialist, you would expect to pay.

£25 for a years membership is peanuts

you can take the fuel gauge sender out of the tank, maybe it is stuck, or maybe the wire on it is broken.

I think this is a question of scale, there are thousands of lotus cars but only 600 or so alpines imported into the uk...but the website costs the same to run, some one has to pay for it.
There are probably less than 200 cars left in the uk and of those I'm guessing that under 100 are in use.
We are a helpful and friendly bunch, with a low membership, we all know each other.
The active membership is low and we all are happy to pay be to part of this community. If you want to be part of it and receive help, we ask a little support in return. There are so few of us the costs fall between very few members.
The other uk alpine club makes you pay before you get forum access at all.
I'm sorry if you think we are being unfriendly, we are just trying to keep our club alive, and these days that means some money for websites.

I'm going to cut the boy some slack because at least he posted some PICS of his car and gave us an intro.

Try this to reset the fuel computer:

Dissconnect Battery, push and hold reset button for a good 15 secs, release, reconnect battery, momentarily push reset again.

There are plenty of club forums that you can't access at all until you're a member.

and what really tees me off is people that register and dont declare their location.
If the guy is local, some one will pop round and get it sorted for him.

and this was my exact point. When some one does get an answer, especially non-members, they dont share afterwards.

Sincerely, I hope you get it sorted and we are here to help. Just ask away but will be nice if you join up and hopefully see you and your GTA running about the place.

Relax guys! In defence of Mr Evo, he appears to be in Warsaw not Walsall, so the chances of seeing him & his car at any of our events are pretty slim. I personally like to hear about Alpines in other parts of the world - I enjoy reading bobfromnorway's posts for example. So I say welcome to the forum Mr Evo & please post some pics of the outside of your car, and your country too!

He's just added that.
If he'd done that on day one there'd be less suggestion he joined up, but I guess he was too lazy.
