my car still wont start :x so far i have replaced dizzi cap/rotor,tdc sensor and now the ignition module and nothing its just turning over my dad seems to think it has something to do with the fuel lines that i replaced because they are 1/2mm smaller bore and after they were fitted the car ran once for about 5 min then died out but there isnt a spark either could it be a fuel problem thats also causing it not to spark :?: :?:

If you havent got a spark you need to start with that....presumably there is still fuel getting to the injectors when the pump is on?? I doubt your fuel line replacement would cause the problem youre describing. If the car ran after you replaced the pipes how could that have caused it? 5 mins is quite a long time....something else has obviously packed up coincidentally. David is currently on hols, but he may beable to lend you another ECU to try....it could be something to do with that. Perhaps someone else has a spare they could lend. I take it your electrician is still none the wiser??

first he said tdc sensor then coil pack im starting to loose faith in him now think hes coming round tomoz give him a last chance :roll: im gonna take the coilpack back and try and get a refund

Yep, could be a freak duff ecu, or may be also worth checking the multiplug going into the ecu that its secured properly....you never know..

Has your electrician definately checked there is 12v getting to the ecu, and that a 5v pulse is triggered to the unit on the other plug when you crank the engine?

Has he also checked both relays below the ecu (fuel pump and ignition)

I had this problem after putting my car back together. It turned out to be the connection to the lift fuel pump (located in the off side rear wheel arch) Make sure you havn't damaged the connecters when you were changing the lines. If eveything looks ok and you are still not sure whether its fuel or electrics, try taking a few plugs out and pooring a little bit of petrol into those pots, replace the plugs and if fuel is the problem you will hear the engine fire when you turn it over.
