Big ends on their way out????

Well thyere I was having an excellent GTA day....the speedo is working again, I'd just changed my bent gear linkage and had been into town to shop when......I noticed a slight knocking noise that speeded up with the revs and was definitely coming from the engine. Stopped and had a listen.......sounded an awful lot like big ends going to me, although it seemed to be coming from too high up in the engine. Took it straight up to see Mike at the local garage. Sharp intake of air....'it doesnt sound good to me!'. Thirty seconds later it was sorted.....you'll never guess what it was

You'd left your work helmet on when working on the linkage and it got stuck and like, you didn't notice .............

A loose bloody spark plug......it sounded just like big ends going...even Mike thought so. You wouldnt believe how relieved I was when thats all it turned out to be!!!!!!

The PRV bottom end is usually seen as immensely strong - probably a lot stronger than Pete's bottom end when he heard the noise

I was going to say that, but then I assumed you'd have felt a drop in performance before hand...

No drop in performance whatsoever....very odd.....those NGK plugs are just so damned good they hardly need screwing in!!
