A lot of the chassis rigidity must go out the window (literally) when you think of the GTAs construction and all the bonded bodywork, inbuilt rollcages etc. Even the bonded windscreen stiffens the structure considerably, and that's all lost.

If he builds a simple cage from the front turrets to the rear turrets it should be sufficient..

This is what the Europa Cup cars had, a normal inside cage, which then went through the bulkhead and bolted to the top of the front suspension and linked through into the rear. Almost like a whole new skeleton chassis which took the load of the bodyshell...
