Suspension - question

Postby pgoldsmith » Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:44 am

What's the difference between 'standard' & 'coil over springs' ?

It's low down on my wish list, but I'm still thinking of replacing the GTA's suspension. It must be tired by now (over 19 years old) and was looking to replace with uprated & adjustable set up.

I've looked through a couple of old threads which detail dampers only, dampers and standard springs, coil over springs etc. ect..

Just trying to get my head around what to consider and why.

Can any of you knowledgable chaps enlighten me please ?

Many thanks,
Paul

No different to the std design .It's a coil spring over the damper so the std is that as well .
What you need to decide is how much adjustment you want .I don't think Koni do the 3 hardness setting dampers anymore so you are left with Mr D's units in either fixed or adjustable platforms or std units with std or uprated springs .
