Gear Linkage?!

So set off to get the beauty through her MOT... smooth sailing until it no longer wants to go in to gear?!

Before it came of the road the gearbox was tricky to select gears and often needed a couple of attempts!

Is there anything that is known for going on these?

Difficult to engage or slack gear shift ? What does the pedal feel like ? Need more info .Linkage bush can pop out then you get loose shifter .Slave cylinder on top of box can leak/fail ,fork arm can fail etc etc .

You might find it worth joining the club as there are a lot of posts giving detailed methods of tackling various common issues that affect these Alps ...... one of them refers to gear linkage which is a very common fault, but you do have to be a full member to access the Members area.
