Hi,

Just wondered if anyone knew of a completely original T1 for sale?

Many thanks,

Tony

I know of a couple that should be up for sale in the next few months. They wont be cheap though. Have you seen the white one for sale in Holland?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Yup, have noticed the ad a few weeks ago:
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C592190#
but would much prefer to buy a UK registered/based car.

Please let me know if and when any others become available?

Many thanks,

Tony

If that car is superb and, more critically, utterly original, €105k is actually quite reasonable!

Watch what RM hammer down a 205 T16 for on Monday week at Battersea, and then the €105k (currently £76,730) begins to look cheap!

Cheers,

Tony

A below average, unoriginal pink and white turbo 2 sold for £56,700 last weekend so a perfect Turbo 1 should be fetching a decent amount more.

As much as I like the R5, the values of these and many other classics are beyond crazy and I don't believe sustainable over the long term. A Porsche 911 for £500k?! Makes an Alpine GTA/A610 seem like INCREDIBLE value to me. I'm not sure I'd like to see the values of Alpines go silly if I'm honest. I love driving the thing and if it was worth a £100k +, you would end up transporting it everywhere on a trailer and be scared to drive it. :down :down
The beauty of many classics is actually seeing them on the road. Static cars never quite look the same as one bumbling down the road.

I agree. but I would still use my car, it's just getting the insurance companies to agree with those sort of values, and then paying up IF you ever had an incident! Most of the time they just right them off, as "unable to repair" Which is a shame!!
