electric window switch bulbs

Postby Alpine Tom » Sat Jun 04, 2016 5:54 pm

Hi all,

Can any one tell me the model number or where to find the tiny bulbs that illuminate the electric window switches.

I've got most of the interior of the car out just now and they aren't like any of the others!

Thank you
Tom

They are 12v 1w or 1.2w bulbs with tails...I bought some last month from Maplin...but then mislaid them...there is a guide on the Old site.. in the members area there is a link to technical help..GTA..switch illumination...

Thanks Dave,

I think I've found them:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/12v-096w-wire ... type-wq13p

I'll fit them and let you know the results.

I can't seem to search on the members area no results came up under 'switch illumination' if any one has some tips on how to use that area effectively I'm all ears, as I have failed before! lol

Thanks Tom

This should take you to the members area where the secret link to narnia/technical help exists... This stuff did not make it to the new forum format...but there is a window switch bulb guide there.
While the switches are out they (often) like a clean with contact cleaner..they work much faster...

I can confirm the bulbs fit fine despite not having the nipple at the top.

A good spray of switch cleaner also worked! The windows seem more powerful, go all the way without help and seem faster, which was a welcome surprise!

Thanks for your help Dave
