steering rack removal

help!! after striping out front have found i need new rack. have taken out tank and removed bolts passenger side but can find no accsess to drivers side bolt i cant even see it even on a 2 post lift . do i have to remove brake servo or cut a hole above it to get to it??? any help would be much appriciated. brian.

Not sure what bolts you have removed but it's all accessible from top and bot without tank removal etc. You need to take the covers out from under the battery tray/heater blower. You can then see the two main bolts for rack brackets/clamps 18mm heads. Underside M8 bolts and then the clamps are off. Another M10 nut and bolt holds the brackets on . Then take it all out through the drivers wheelarch.

many thanks clee think my brain went into melt down! can see what you mean know still can finish of waxoil now tanks out. brian.
