Breaking 1990 GTA Turbo

Postby BIG_MVS » Tue May 06, 2008 6:00 pm

Had a good look over the Project this weekend and me and ED have come to the conclusion that it's a breaker.

It looks like it has lived quite alot of its life by the sea and is heavily corroded underneath, not just the rear subframe as thought before but all the outriggers, jacking points, front subframe etc(Turbodog was telling me about a Le Mans now at Paul Sages which has suffered the same fate with regards to the chassis). It's just not economical to repair it, add in the price of a good respray, the current GTA market and it's a no brainer really.

Anyway all parts are available, here are the good bits:

Alpine Blue Metallic Body Panels (All good but faded)
Full Black Leather Interior (Very Good Condition)
ABS
Low Mileage Engine
All Glass Available
All Interior Parts Good

Bad Bits:

All Underneath, Subframe, rear suspension inc lower arms etc is shot.

PM If interested.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm...............................reality bites!

Postby silverdreammachine » Wed May 07, 2008 12:29 pm

Hi Martin,
Sorry to hear that you're now breaking the project. Sometimes the heart rules the head, for a while anyway  Typical that now i've sourced my front seats you have a full set available  If I could afford them would buy them and keep them. At least you know that it will more than wipe its face as a breaker, even though it's sad that yet another one bites the dust.
With all your spare time spent breaking GTA's, when is the lawn ever going to get cut?
Best wishes,
Ashley

Overkill really as my lawn is a bit of a postage stamp really. Anyway looks like my shed will be full of parts again awaiting their new owners.

Leather now sold subject to pictures.

Martin,
Thats not the Rolls Royce of lawn mowers, you've been sold a pup! Her name is Woolly and she has many more uses than just cutting the lawn!
