I am BITTERLY dissapointed about this. I have great emotional attachment to this car as it was bought for me by my late wife. I was far too ill to repair it myself after my near-fatal accident, so Martin wanted to buy it cheap ('cos he's a "mate") so he could repair it and perhaps I would get to see /try it again. He got it cheap despite my having spent £5/600 with him for the parts to repair it. I transported it at less than the cost of fuel, 'cos he's a "mate" too. Now it langiushes in some back street being passed around for peanuts. I would never have sold it if I thought it would get abused like this.
So much for your reassurances,Martin. So much for my selling it cheap to a so - called mate. Didn't even bother to offer it back, either!
Let's hope the present owner actually does something with it, or when he gets bored, or it's in the way in the back street, I can buy it back and sort it out properly, now my health is beginning to improve a bit..
As I said bitterly, bitterly dissapointed.

My popularity increases!

Paul I never thought to give you the heads up as you said previously you were not well enough to get it on the road.

At the end of the day I bought the car from you for £2k plus £100 shipping, the same amount I sold it to the new owner. It's a project that has not moved for one reason or another but now it looks like it will start to be progressed and put back on the road.

Mission accomplished I think?

Thanks a bunch!
It hangs around in bodgers back street.
Will it ever get done?
Doubtfull.
Remeber, Martin, I wanted £2K PLUS the parts, you got it cheap BECAUSE you were supposed to be a mate and would put it back on the road.
Rather it had been left in my w/shop until I was well enough.

Not so sure Clee is a "Bodger" :?

You had it for sale for a while with no mention of wanting it back until I took the plunge (as you say a couple of tyre kickers came round who didn't buy it):

Mr Williams - It also has Koni Shocks and a CAT 1 alarm which I forgot about :D

I'm sure when it's finished Dave Williams will give you a ride in it and if he decides he only wants his ATMO maybe he can give you first refusal if he sells it?

Nice ......

I don't think there is anyone on this forum that has done more to educate and inform members + shown results time and time again on various projects over many years with little if any bad press ?

Ohh well .

Isn't this the Lee who rebuilt his engine some years ago, and it wouldn't start? Then was going to sell it and give up? The eventually found he had put it together wrongly and bent the valves?
It surely must be.....

Just goes to show how the motor trade is all wrong as anyone can set up a garage repair business anywhere with no qualifications and slate themselves as an expert.........

Good luck, Lee. I hope you manage. But I sure wouldn't want to leave a car in the street like that. Damn sure my customers wouldn't either!

Ahh the old professional ,I've done my time shite ......

Yes I did kiss a piston ...once ,on my own engine .You not ever never made a mistake ?

Street like that ? Ahh a snob as well .....So sorry ,should I move into a 4 bedroom new build ? ...Be a shame to lose my double garage ,4 bed ,1/4 acre land mind ....I also rent an industrial unit ,run out of space at the slum .I had a car on the dead end street when you dropped yours off ,yes ..so I could get your non-runner up the drive and out the way .Before putting it back ...on the drive ...

Tell you what matey ...you try and learn my original profession as a design engineer and see just how far you get .....

P.S

Apart from the ' why the hell are you taking this opportunity to have a pop at me when I have stored it for ages at no charge and stopped it from being broken for parts ' issue
..... ....if the car meant so much to you and I assume you got a good insurance payout ,why sell it at all ?

Parts of that look awfully like Libel, dangerous words when it could impact on someone’s livelihood.

Lee has done a great job on my engine, chassis, gearbox etc with photos etc to prove it.

If you take the decision to sell, then that's it, the car is sold and its for the new owner to what he wants with it. If he changes his plans then its his choice, its him who has cash tied up in the car and its him carrying the cost risk if repair to fire damage etc costs more than he thought.

Personally, I wish it had been broken, I fancy leather and need a rear light and a courtesy light cover :D

Agree with blueg33.

Lee did a great job sorting out everything underneath the back end of my (also blue) GTA Turbo.

All the posts of what he'd done for other people convinced me that he knew what he was doing to sort mine out.

I'd certainly recommend RATS

And a 3rd recommendation here.

Lee sorted out my GTA recently with lots of underbody work and upgrades etc. Again with a great photo update thread showing the quality etc.

As per JonC, I took it to Lee upon seeing his work with previous customers cars... and I'd recommend RATS to others too.

Thanks guys .

I'm not sure where all this has come from as I've only met Paul F the once when he dropped the car off ...
A lot of the people I trust most are those that are self taught ...Guess they just have to work it out themselves and that adds a certain + I feel .
I know we are all only as good as our last feck up but it's also about how you deal with it and treat people that matters .I don't think I've fecked up anything of any great import as yet ...famous last words that may come back to haunt .

Anyway ,where's that feckin Longdrop got to ? Guilty by association or what !
Mines a 12oz ribeye with extra mushrooms btw Big and I won't be hovering by the till :P
