Driven the oil burner and it was very nice, more cruser than renaultsport, however the 3.5 is very similar to the 350z motor so ripe for tuning and if you get one in white with black 18" R26 wheels like my local renaul dealer it really does look like a baby aston martin. A very nice car!

Shame they didn't leave it like the concept car which looked sportier in my eyes. Maybe they will nail it with the facelifted RenaultSport version?

There isn't much difference, just think the front looks right on the concept but a bit 'gawpy' on the actual production car. Love the rear of the car though, very Aston Martin. As mentioned, when they get down to £5-7k, it would be a nice buy. 8)

ooooooh hark at you!

it would be a nice bit of kit with 400 screaming stallions under the bonnet and standard looking exterior 8)

also looks like Renault don't sell the 3.5 petrol version anymore only a 3.0 v6 deezl so they'll probably end up rarer than Alpines

Renault In the UK have a terrible habit of selling their classier milage eaters with auto boxes only. They may have finally started making reliable auto boxes but the image is already set, so the great unwashed know that renault autoboxes are made of chocolate. These will be less than half price very quickly. Do they offer this one in manual at a sensible price)?

They had the same problem with the top Safranes (particularly the 5 cylinder 2.5lt) which are quite sort after on the continent in manual form but we're stuck with the auto version here where the car is worth less than a third of the continental price....

Renault UK have the spectacular ability of not selling in the UK the version of a car that takes on minor cult status elsewhere (or making it an option so expensive that only the feeble minded would go for it)...

The early Safrane's had Renault gearboxes which were beyond hopeless (much like the R25 auto gearboxes). The later 2.5 20v Safrane had the Volvo engine mated to the Aisin Warner auto box which was a great unit and I've seen quite a few of these with 250k + miles on with no problems. I've been driving one of the later 2.5 Safrane's as my daily driver for 7 years now with no reliability issues at all  and pick it everytime over the other stuff on my drive. In fact, I'm yet to get in a more comfortable car.

Not sure how the very newest Laguna's are performing in terms of reliability but they couldn't get any worse than the previous 2002-2009 model one. Don't they come with a 100,000 mile warranty these days?
