A310 in Plymouth !!!

Postby rupert » Sun Oct 02, 2011 3:35 pm

Just saw a dark blue metallic A310 with a big flying A on the side heading into Plymouth on the Tavistock Rd.
Nearly crashed in surprise.

theres a spider owner in the south west not far from you, plus he has a berlinette and a couple of other cars too, he's in a smallish clique of Alp owners in the area around poole they have something to do with CAR or did, don't know really much about them, they're all old boys though and have owned them along time they don't use the forum so you never hear or see they stuff they have sleeping in their garages, possibly one of group out on a run to the south coast....

There is a yellow spider in Plymouth - I'm in touch with the owner - and an A610 and an A110 somewhere near Torbay I think - owner is Brian Pengelly, but you're right, I don't think he does internet.

Mike Hayton (A110) works at the tank museum (or did.... I haven't seen him for 10 years or so) .

Brian Whiteside is over that way.

Don't know who would live in Plymouth though

andyh 877 is on about me in Dorset ( Des Collins ) I have a yellow Spider plus a blue 110,a Matra Bagheera and a Vel Satis. Mike Hayton lives in Weymouth and is in charge of the Bovington Tank Museum restoration workshop. He has a blue 110 and a 8 Gordini. Brian Whiteside lives in Poole and owns a blue 110 G plus a Clio V6 amongst his massive vehicle collection. Near Dorchester is Alan Matthews with his yellow Spider, Red 5 Turbo 1, a couple of Turbo 2's and a GTA Le Mans. Alan used to operate a Renault Alpine garage in the small village of East Lulworth.
Again in Poole is Dennis Strachen with a 310 V6 and a GTA. Over in nearby Bournemouth we also have a couple of club members. Not a bad selection of Renaults in a small part of Dorset!

Ah! I definitely feel the potential for a SW meet. Springtime!

I'll try and get hold of Brian Pengelly in Torquay who has an A610 and an A110.

Now then venues.... Somewhere in East Devon - Dorset. Where's the Haynes museum?

Haynes Museum is approx. 10 miles north of Yeovil.

Gurston Down sounds good too, half between Shaftesbury and Salisbury.
