Seats are modern Tillet R500 style with retro diamond stitch leather insert so more in-keeping with period trim theme.

I found someone that get get in and out easily as well ;-)

Sorry for lack of posts but have been a bit out of sorts lately.

Priorities a bit wrong but got a new plate a while back that was hard to resist.

Hope now that you're firing on all cylinders again. Watching this one with interest.
Like the registration, interesting font. Can't tell from the photo but is the plate a special size so that it just fits below the engine cover release button?
Just noticed something with the number plate illumination lights, maybe it's a 'spot anything?' photo.
I think the lights should be rotated 180 degrees so that the red sectors face rearwards. That's the way I understand they should be so that the clear sectors illuminate the number plate and, theoretically, a following driver can only see the red lights.
Small point I know, but just thought I'd mention it.

German font.

My original plate had a hole for the boot catch but my new boot has bonnet pins so the catch has been removed and the hole filled.

Will check out the number plate lights!

I've only ever seen them fitted with the red at the rear and I've looked through my huge stash of Mille Miles magazines and they're all like that for the cars with the two lights.
Presumably the French have similar vehicle lighting regulations to those in the UK which state 'No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing any light to the rear, other than a red light, except–'

There is a whole list of exceptions and the three most obvious ones are:-

'(a)amber light from a direction indicator or side marker lamp;
(b)white light from a reversing lamp;
(c)white light from a work lamp;'

Don't know why the photo of Summer at the wheel won't appear in the quote box but:-
Have you given the car a respray, from what can be seen it looks good?
Looks as if the handbrake should be effective in comparison with the under-dash type. Something you've purchased and fitted?

The car has had a full chassis and suspension restoration (everything powder coated). It has also had a full repaint. Will most likely go into Jägermeister livery.

Finding the logos might be a challenge but maybe anything's possible these days if you can find starting point templates. Certainly different to the more 'normal' blue colour schemes.

Was the car painted locally, in the London area?

what "group 5 " regs exactly did this fall under?
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

Well the Bruno Saby 1800S Groupe 5 car was 1976 so assuming this one:

4th Generation Group 5 – "Special Production Cars" (1976 to 1982)

For the 1976 season the FIA introduced a new Group 5 "Special Production Car" category, allowing extensive modifications to production based vehicles which were homologated in FIA Groups 1 through 4. These cars would contest the World Championship for Makes series from 1976 through to 1980 and then the World Endurance Championship in 1981 & 1982. The FIA rules restricted the width of the car, therefore cars were built with standard body widths but wide mudguard extensions. The regulation required only the bonnet, roof, doors and rail panel were left unmodified.[3] The rules however did not mention headlight heights, therefore when Porsche originally were to enter the 935 with the production headlight, they read the rules and discovered the loophole, therefore they raced the 935 with the hallmark flat nose. The category was also mostly associated with the wide boxy wheel arches and extravagant body style.

I know what group 5 is/was having seen loads of WCfM races in the late 70's but, unlike group 4, there were never rally's for group 5 cars, save for the giro d'Italia which comprised tarmac road stages as well as race's on proper circuits and attracted the odd group 5 Lancia beta. Certainly don't recall seeing a A110 race as group 5 and being right at the end of A110 development would have to wonder why and where these competed. any idea?

Something for your research.

A couple of pages from 'Berlinettes Alpine' by Christian Descombes.
