The front end was painted just before I bought the car due to stone chips galore. Looks like the preperation was not up to scratch though  It did get some primer at least though looking at the other indicator bulb.

Are the removed bits being kept so the next time someone spanks one of these there is something to start from?
I know it sounds odd but the current bumpers look ok in the pictures, but obviously not perfect.
I guess next time new bits will all be gone?
I guess it depends on how big he stockpile is?

Lee - You should know me by now...Of course they will be kept. I'll probably sell them if your interested as I have no intention of repeating my antics! Plus the money can go towards a set of new shocks as I'm pretty sure mine are past their best.

normally the parts have to be disposed of by the body shop for the insurance, Andy is repairing a new van for us which has been in a minor accident (which is being held up by some old Renault he's patching up), we have he same situation.... VW kindly explained this situation to us... frustrating i know but you must understand..... those bumpers are the insurance's property now once they've paid for yours to be replaced

Your always the bearer of good news aren't you Andy  If the insurance want to keep them then that's fine by me.

Cracking on and cracking work 8)

How do you decide where to splice the new into the old ? I see you have made some strategic chops :?

when these cars were made they fitted the rear wings and then the rear spoiler panel over the top so it is not possible to fit the complete rear wing.it is always best to leave as much in tact as you can so im going to join the new panel as in the photo. it looks a bit strange at the moment but it will all make sence as the repair continues.
