Having never done a track day, can someone briefly describe please ?

I dont paticulary want to thrash the nuts off my car but simply drive it fast round the track - is that basically it ?

Also, apart from noise limitations, is there any other considerations to preparing the vehicle ?

Would it be possible to come for an hour? I have two concerts that day but........

Need to be in Central London by 1130 so home by 1045.

So 9-10 track time?

That is of course if all is running fine by then!!!

So many variables but so many possibilities!!!!

you can drive as fast as you want, as long as you keep your wits about you and keep eyes open for faster cars you'll have a trouble free day,

make sure the car is well prepped...... all fluids tip top, brakes have plenty of life left in them and tyres too pressures ok wheel nuts checked, common sense really,

make sure you're roadside assistance is up to date just in case you do get a breakdown and it can't be fixed at the track and if you prefer.... get some trackday insurance.

it's a trackday organised by a trackday company, not the club, with a limited number of cars aloud i doubt they'd let you run on track for an hour unless you paid the full booking amount for the day, as your taking a full place whether you run all day or for 5 minutes,

I've spoke to the organiser which is a guy called Dave. Seems a nice day to join as he's not looking for a huge profit. He set up the company as he was fed up of getting ripped off at other track days. Hence the free instruction, food, photos etc.

I guess I can ask attaboy TV if they will subsidise the day at all even to the tune of £20 or so or maybe the club could do it.

Open pit lane maxish 50 cars. Should be fine. Just need a helmet. Road car should be taxed and MOT'd. Reace cars should be in decent condition ie able to pass MSA scrutineering although this won't actually be done.

Noise linits are given in the thread.

No Caterhams etc so hopefully nothing too quick out there. Will be some fast Porsches though, subarus and classic minis.

Mr Dell are you sure about this? If so then That raises a problem for me as I don't tax my cars anymore.

Mike and Ed are available so looks like this may be a goer. Confirmation in a day or two.
