Door to window glass seal strip

Postby murf » Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:11 pm

I’ve noticed with all the recent persistent rain that both my doors are filling with water because the rubber/plastic seal is no longer pressing against the glass to divert the water. Is this profile available anywhere and or does anyone have two they would be prepared to sell?

Apologies, I omitted to say these strips are for a GTA.

Hi Stephen,

Here are a couple of pics showing the offending strip/ door capping. I’ve taped the drivers side as a temporary measure and will do the same for the passenger’s side if it ever stops raining.

Thanks for that Lee. Just picked myself up off the floor. I can’t believe they’ve got the nerve to charge that much for a 90cm length of extruded plastic.

Me neither....it comes with the metal part too, doesn't seem to be a rubber only option. As the width changes, any replacement part is going to need bonding of different bits.

Dell Boy is breaking a couple of GTA's. He will sell you one murf for £20 like I used to do to help out a fellow Alpine enthusiast.

Unfortunately rubber or plastic stuff just gets hard and inflexible with age so fitting something of a similar age won’t last long ether, I don’t no but as with a lot of stuff fitted to the Alpine the profile might have been fitted to other Renaut cars which you might be able to modify in some way, Renaut 25 etc.
