No, not overly, tho I'm gettng well pissed off with the weather.Spent most of the day refurbing alloys ,no work on at the mo :cry: Been reading a bit and the engine seems to be a bit of a dog................
I love the GTA but it's let down by the engine .

Dont get obsessed with power!!!! As my results have shown this year its possible to keep up with more powerful machines in real conditions....unless you are dragging your car past MacDonalds!!! :lol: The engine has excellent torque, its a fairly light car and it grips well. A brake upgrade is a possibility and worth as much as a power boost. Once youve got a 280bhp GTA then you can start moaning that its not enough......in the real worls a 280bhp GTA will be as quick as anything that hasnt got an army of electronic gizmos stopping you crash!

I'm not obsessed with power ,that's only half the battle I know ,but the engine doesn't allow much in the way of tuning it would seem ,why :?:
At the moment I'm looking at brakes and cooling ,the intercooler mainly , this would seem to be the biggest downfall of the design. Rear engined,turbo and non existant intercooling :roll:

Balance and set up have a lot to do with it as well. Realigning the weight and then setting up your suspension, as well as sorting your corner weights mean you can go round corners alot quicker! On the intercooling front you could start by removing all the fibreglass from in front of the intercooler...its free and it'll improve flow.

Removing the obstructions isn't going to help that much ,would introduce more heat as far as I can see as you expose the core to more engine heat .You need flow and cooling flow at that .Charge cooling's the way to go ,but the bays a sealed unit so needs additional cooling pickup .

I think you'll find once youre moving it will actually introduce a reasnoble air flow providing you are running one of Davids tubular exhausts( the standard item will seriously restrict the flow) You are talking about intercooling (£600), I am talking about a quick, free improvement.....to someone who cut grooves in his own brake discs!!!!!! :lol:

Fuego mega nutter yes....but have you seen how badly he has done on the circuit in another mag (could be practical performance car...not sure)...he was soundly slowest because the car has too much power! Still a bargain if you ant thrills I guess.....but I like to go round the corners not into them at high speed!!! :lol:

To much power :wink: My asp ,It's just not set up properly ,no such thing as to much power.He just needs to spend £59 on andling an such,

.... I still maintain that £300 spent on a decent driving course will make you go a lot quicker than any mod... 8)
