DTA for a GTA

Opinions on these units anyone ?

probably best just sticking with adaptronic

But it's £200 ,although that's still 200 more than I've got at the minute
They all seem much of a muchness looking at the tech specs.I suppose you pays your money .................and once you've done that you're committed to making the best of whatever .
New units are all around the same price £600 ish .I don't need an all dancing/singing setup .
The Adaptronic seems as good as the rest at this price point but has less of a track record .They all seem to do the job .

Still ,I am sticking with the GTA

Looks like an old model. Can't see anything that looks like that on the DTA website or in the 'legacy' section.

Yes, it's an old unit but so is the GTA
Not heard of DTA but I've only just started to look around .

DTA are a leading brand...I had one on an old k-series engined car and they are good.....easy to find a tuner who knows the system.

That's one of the main requirements as far as I'm concerned .I don't fancy being a test case for a newish system .If I buy a well known unit from a reputable source then I can demand the results they promise and get a bit of comeback .It's like doing your own paint prep .If I waltz in with my own unit and say make it work they will always have a getout if it doesn't perform .

I might take a wander up the road to Noble ,it's only a half hour trip ,get it on the rollers in std form ,then give them a quizzing .I shall be armed with a bit of GTBlinger info at least as well

it would be nice to see what it makes compared to mine think mine made 192bhp at first thats with exhaust,filter,smaller hybrid @ standard boost

Different RR I know , but last time mine was 190 with a bit more boost and free flow .................................Ohhhh and an engine on the way out

DTA will need a trigger wheel, and won't work with the original sensors as its not a self calibrating unit.

Yep, and replacement sensors, and maybe a rewire of the ignition system if they have direct spark output..

Very very unlikely, and you can always steal the right signal off the RPM output feed. Even if it -soes- have a direct spark o/p, you could just run a seperate coil of your choosing. I believe the GTA's rev counter runs off the coil neg because it's the same in both the ATMO and Turbo.

As for the trigger pattern being configurable... Omex seem a good choice there, although the software is a little bewildering. Not sure on the sensors but I expect thay're configurable too. And I'll say it again, the way Peter's place got the Adaptronic to trigger off the stock flywheel is -not- 100% correct.

The trigger isn't an issue afaic ,I'll just get one made up to suit when someone tells me what to do I can lose all that weight off the flywheel then
