Wanted : Clutch plastic pipe

Postby scottydog » Thu Feb 07, 2008 6:30 pm

The front to rear pipe connecting master and slave cylinders.

Really after a new one - out of stock in Renault UK and France.

No alternative parts offered by Renault - so suggestions also appreciated if part unavailable.

Thanks.

Simon.

...what he said... or if you can send me the old one, I can have a stainless braided teflon lined one made up. Been selling them for the DeLorean for years. It'll be around £40

Stephen - my friendly local Renault dealer, Waters in Letchworth, are excellent. Michael, the parts chap there, likes the car and goes out of his way to help me out. He checked the UK and France for me and advised no stock.

Good news for me is that he called back this morning and has managed to track down a pipe for me.

Martin, I've committed to buying the plastic pipe now but I'll take you up on your offer as well. I need my car back now - it's been off the road of a month trying to get the part - so I will get the new plastic pipe fitted and can retrofit the one you can get made up for me when it's a nice warm sunny day (here's hoping after last year!).

I use the car everyday - 42 mile round trip - and sit in really heavy start/stop traffic most days. £40 for peace of mind seems money well spent to me, Plastic pipe is all of £16.00 so no great loss. I'll send you the old one when I can - will be in touch.

Thanks all!

Simon.

There is no link to the stock at the Alpine factory from the Renault system. Many a time I have been told a part is unavailable in France only to find it sitting on the shelf when calling personally.

Recent examples include GTA Le Mans Bumpers, Wings and Sills, R5 Turbo 2 Wings etc
