I have just fitted a full widearch kit on my alpine and considering buying wheels for it as the wheels at the moment sit in 4 inchs from the arches. I was wondering has anyone else done this and where would they recommend getting wheels.
What is the best way of bringing out the spacing to make the tyres flush to the arches. can this be done with spacers or do i need to buy 3 piece split rime.
The problem that i have encountered with fitting the kit means that the searing will have to be altered with the extended width of the wheels cuts down the steering lock.
I you have any information would you please get back to me.
i have no pictures of the extensions but will get some up for you 2moro nite. the front wheels need to come out 3 inches and the rear wheels need to come out to about 5 inches. The problem with the front wheels is the steering lock they will rub the archs.
yea thats the order code. Its a real bullocks to fit came just as a preformed shell. none of the parts fitted properly and all needed modified. but hopefully thats what it will look like only im sraying it blue.
i´m looking forward to see some pictures when you are done with it I got my wheels from this company http://www.rh-alurad.de/ , but my car is a A610 without a widebody kit.
but I am sure andreas Simon-Auto@t-online.de will help you out with info on what to do when you are fitting your wheels, did you buy it from him?.
any other mods? engine tuning? interior? breaks? suspension?
yea bought the body kits from simon_auto bought it 10 months ago is alot of work have the kit on and need to mould it all in still but my time is limited as i am a student. took the engine out and resprayed and totally stripped nearly everything but just got it fired up last week for the first time in a while. I bought my car for £1000 looked well very little wor needed done. i thought it was a find for that money so thats why i bought the body kit for it. im goin to paint it blue the same colour of the new bmw m3 blue. considering the two strips up the middle but dont know. i havve a few other mod im thinkin of but strapped for cash need to get wheels sorted first.
I asked simon auto about the wheels but i want to put bigger that 15 inch on it but means altering the steering.
If you look on my site, I have the Azevs listed, which can go up to 10" wide with an offset as low as 10mm, which brings the wheel flush with a standard GTA arch. Azev can also supply dedicated hub adaptors to bring this wheel out another 1-2 inches. Is this enough?
Other that that I have the Lemans type split rims which can come in any width and offset and will definetely fit, but they are mucho expensivo!
Having a bit of brain fade here because I cant remember the name of the company I'm about to talk about!!!!!! but they made a set of wheels for me a few years back (company definitely still exists) for a 3 wheeled kitcar I had......it had a Renault 3 stud fitting and different offsets front and rear. The wheels were a work of art, but cost £900 for 3. They can make absolutely anything in any offset and stud pattern, but you will pay for it! A lot of people with things like Cobras and Lambo replicas go to them to get arch filling wheels. Will be going to my garage later and still have a can of their wheel protector lying around so I'll beable to get you the name.
