Have you seen these ? No idea if they are suitable for GTAs or not.

I've seen the manufacturers site in the past, but can't find it today....there was more detail there I seem to remember.

I have seen simular gauges to those in the past. I liked the one on ebay because i could 'make it fit' in the dash to the left of the steering whell and it all in one instead of having to mount loads of round ones...

Is the map sensor 2 or 3 bar. Plus, its been suggested to change it to a Webber Map Sensor, is this worth the trouble?

Its a 2 bar sensor, its fitted on some other Renault cars too - 21 and 25 Turbo for sure. You'll only need a 3 bar map sensor if your going to run alot more boost then standard and upgrading the fueling to suit - and I don't think the standard ecu will work with a 3 bar map sensor, I'm sure David can confirm or deny this.

Theoretically you can change to a weber sensor, but you will have to change the plug and the pin config, but it wont make a blind bit of difference to the original sensor

These displays arent really worth the bother, its very small, the air temp sensor will need tapping into the main 'V6' pipe, but the sensor they use is a slow update thermistor, which isnt very accurate for inlet temps, the 'water injection controller' is just a relay than can be set to trigger at a certain boost pressure/temp, but you still need to buy a water injection system, and the lambda system (if you had a sensor) is narrowband display only, so hardly any usable, visible range..

And yes, you cant upgrade the standard 2 bar to a 3 bar on the original ecu. Basically all map (1,2 and 3 bar) sensors kick out a voltage from 0 to 5v depending on pressure (0 being max vacuum and 5v being max pressure of that particular sensor)..so if you stuck a 3 bar on a 2 bar system it would think 14psi for instance, was 8 psi, and therefore the fueling and ignition timing would be completely out. It would need a mappable ecu to therefore be completely recalibrated.

Thats fine but what about the ECU!!

Thanks for you help people. I ended up getting it as i was the only bidder...

If nothing else it will cover up those horrible standard gauges and give me the motivation to put some better looking switches one the dash!!! :lol:

Ok... So, i have got the new-fangled gauge fitted to what i thought was the map sensor. No surprize that it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me where the map sensor is located and what it looks like? :oops:
