Spare wheel cover

Postby policeman442 » Sun Mar 20, 2005 1:00 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a spare wheel cover from or will it cause problems if I just place the wheel next to the engine without one.

I need a bit of luggage room for a weekend away. :P

Remember being told these covers are v. expensive to buy new.
I bought a used spare+cover a couple months ago. I'd been chancing it with no spare and a can of 'inflate 'n seal' / 'hope n' pray' (for 1 year and 6000 mi of weekends away). Suspect there are a lot of GTAs without spares out there.

How's your French ?

ad dates from December but it might be still available - think "avec sa housse" means "with cover". If the cover is good 60 Euros could be a fair price for the cover alone. (but I'd check what the price new is first).

Could be worth a go if you can't get a cheap/used cover from the uk.

spare wheel cover

Postby clivebawden » Mon Mar 21, 2005 12:53 pm

You do need the cover. The spare wheel that came with my car had a hole in the tyre due to heat damage. I got a new (second-hand) wheel and cover from peterg via this website. I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
