Why the sudden interest in Porsche 924 racers? :?

They are not very powerful but they do handle well, road car owners are always very fond of them and will usually defend the taunts of it’s not a Porsche and it's got a van engine with vigour always citing the very good handling.

They are quite a rare model now in the Porsche Club GB, probably because they were not wholly loved by the Porsche fraternity in the first place and it would seem most have been turned into racers or broken up for parts.

Because for the cost of our brakes we could have a ready to go/prepped car eligible to enter in the series .

+ neither of knows anything about racing in anger and need as much if not more prep than the car
£2k buys us a good car to go racing next month

Fair comment, I suspected it was something of this ilk.

In that case all you say makes perfect sense. Most who have driven them in races love the handling but eventually move on for want of more power but some are happy with the power and handling and stay with the 924 as race speeds are lower and accidents if they happen hurt less.

The Porsche Club GB have a very active motorsport section and their own pukka race series with sponsors and everything, so for the price of a PCGB membership, £55 this year I paid, you will have access to that as well.

Can do I suppose but they take quite a while to machine so I will have to check on price .Holes are 30mm diameter and need to be opened out to match inlets and heads .Injector position looks OK .

Price is £300 + delivery .

Effectively it is still a one off production so no real room for making them any cheaper I'm afraid .
