Water on the carpets? Front passenger footwell?
Check the heater connections behind the console panel on the passenger side.

No, the small well next to the passenger seat near the emergency door opener, also the drivers footwell carpet a little damp.

I can't remember where I pit the last question about thermostats so thought I would update here. Stat arrived in 5 days or so from the main dealer which was good and I bothered to note the differenc between that and the GSF item The disc on the bottom is 5mm smaller on the GSF part compared to the OE stat. Car now up to temps.

The Renault one I ordered with the correct GTA part No., like above, had the larger disc... which is not a problem, but it was marked 86 degrees, not the correct GTA 88 degree one... and had a jiggle valve... which appears to be correct for the 610.
Wanting to have the correct one for the GTA, I ordered one from Simon Autos which came down with the correct 88 degrees... but no jiggle valve... so drilled a small hole in it to aid bleeding, and works fine..... Oh!... the other benefit £21 delivered. :D

Think mine said 88 degrees and did have a jiggle valve. Cost was more at £32 I think and didn't come with a gasket/seal. I'll see if I have the packaging with the part number to see if is the same.

I think you will find it was stamped 86`....(see pic below) the package it came in is stamped 60 00 007 566, which is the correct GTA stat No..... I did query it with Renault, and they came back saying that was the only one they had for that Pt No.
BTW, I made a mistake with the price.... The price quoted above was from Renault ex VAT £25.46... but realised I got a gasket as well, so checked again.... read the wrong invoice (senior moment  ) the price from Simon Autos was 18,50 euros for stat, and 3 euros for gasket, ex TVA, plus postage..... still a big saving.

Before I went away last week I dropped the wheels off at BJV Engineering for a refurb. The finish is ok not stunning and was £220 all in which isn't bad as they have large centre caps which must be a job in themselves. Of course the caps needed relieving if some powder coat so the sat proplerly but I was expecting that. I had a set of Lotus wheels done four years ago by them and the finish is still very good hence my hope of a repeat. I nearly sold the car last week as I got itchy feet for something else but glad I saw sense. Clio had to go though.

Andy,

Seven cars and the hots for something else. I may regret it but there are plenty on the market which is also another reason. Most owners don't seem to want to drive then except in the sunshine and are precious about their cars which is nice as it means there are a lot of good ones available. One of the better cars for driving I think for the way it went and sounded, a proper motorsport car.

Jon,

Thanks, I think it's a good one and it will be going up to Clee soon for his suspension refurb and attention to the rear turrets. It will be interesting to hear what he thinks of the car. Also the new headlamp covers will finish the cosmetics off nicely. I wanted to buy an Evora but up to now felt the car was let down by the interior on the earlier cars in my budget. By chance I called into a dealer for the launch of the Exige S and on the forecourt one car stood out to me. One of two specials made with lots of carbon, perforated leather and Alcantara. Should have it next week.

Looking good. I Used BJV for the Venturi's wheels about 4 years ago and I thought they were good value for money as they collected the wheels, removed the tyres, did the wheels, refitted the tyres and returned them.

I agree, looking good. The paint coulour looks the same as my 1990 GTA atmo. Is yours paint code 485? I was led to believe this is Electric Blue, but I have a paint swatch from 1990, showing Electric Blue as code 495. As misprint perhaps?

Not sure, where will I find the paint code?
