Good stuff, nice reading your write up and seeing your progress. It's not my skill set, but can appreciate the work involved 8)

... Jon have you got some blue paint at the ready then?

Thanks Martin, I don't think Andy001 will ever employ me as his chief painter but I'd rather do everything myself, always have when I do a car resto, I find its more satisfying then with the end result :D

Once I've got it all together again and done the oil leak I'm going to refurb the alloys as there's bubbling under the paint.

Just the steering wheel to recover then, I think I'll have a go myself, you can buy the leather cheap enough, worse case if its a disaster I can get it done properly and I've only lost 15 quid in materials.

Not sure on the radio, I have an original unit and display to fit, but I'm rather taken with my custom Alpine CD and original Renault cassette player setup :D so may pop the original on ebay to free some funds up for beer tokens!

still needs a really good mopping and finishing - ordering my new mop in the morning :) but started putting bits back on as it was getting me down looking dishevelled sat in dusty garage!

Had her running for an hour today too, running on 4 for the first 10 minutes, but started to clear and got better and better.

New plugs and a good service the weekend, dropping sump off to give it a good clean out as car been standing so long.

Bit of an update.

Car mostly mopped, need to go over it agian but my hand was aching :D
started fitting the new carpets and put rear lights etc back in. Have used A610 grill but unclipped the Alpine badge - I reckon it looks good anyway :)

Going to have a look at oil leaks today :?

I'd bought myself another trolley jack too the oher day so I can get under the car easier, I've got two sealey professionals but wanted a long reach/high lift badger, its a bit big for the garage though, lifts to a metre high :D that'll be going on ebay when I'm done!

pretty much mate, needs a few finishing bits, carpets, steering wheel recovering (now have a spare one to cover so car not immobile!), bit of final mopping and waxing.

Runs mint, still got to service it though, going out in minute to look at oil leaks. once they are fixed it can go for an MOT :)

At least the doors open and close okay now - thats what started all this off 8)

Ta Mate, It may need major surgery though - I may have to fit Delorean style Gullwing doors - I can't get in and out of it with my back  I had to roll out of it on the drive last week  Mel thought I'd been on the carlsberg all day :D
