It was the other side of the tracks from the town. But it was about 18 years ago when I had an R25. I have made a note and next time I'm over I'll give you a call. :D

Well very nice, may be you could sell a few on here?

Were those mandrel bends that you made up, or pre-formed bend sections? I have a bend problem I need to solve, as the exhaust chaps that did mine made the bend one side very sharp and gives up much on flow  So thinking of chopping the bend out and welding in another section.

The are pre-formed bend sections...but I don't know the size or radius.
All I know is that it's a big difference compared to the original exhaust.
This one is freeflow so no material inside...

The guy who build it with me is very slow( but good), he never have time or the spirit, so production is not a good option. :D

Today back on the Dyno...

To see the differance with catalyst and without catalyst...

The blue/ black line is the run with catalyst a few months ago
The red/pink line is the run without the catalyst...of today

Did't change anything else..just catalyst and exhaust

Nice result Jochem 8) ... the power of back-pressure, or the lack of it...

Is the scale of the plots correct across both, I thought the hard rev limit on the OE ecu was below 6500?

Do you have the scale for the AFR plot?

Certainly looks like you can pull more out of this with some further tweaking.

Martin

The AFR is oke....but didn't come on the read out....problem with the computer.
My rev limter is around 7000....in the car , but it is a Alpine so electrics are soso

I don't think I will do more tuning with this car...
Or are there simpel things you can do....?

Hi Jochem

Simple thing to do, but a bit costy, liquid/air chargecooler, should give you a pretty good gain on that cooking engine in the back! Then dyno again please :D
Interesting plots to see what "only" a bit less restriction brings!

Chris

Can you overlay the AFR plots for your before and after? What number did you have at full power, now in the high 12's? You have less back pressure now, so I would expect you are running a little leaner. However, depending how it was originally calibrated at the factory this may bring you in to a more optimum point (on the favourable side), if the calibration had been set up rich to protect the cat at full power... If not, then you will be running leaner than optimum.

Simple mods, if you know AFR above, then you could decided to run a little more boost, but as Chris says charge temps is something to watch. But I would upgrade the turbo, as a peak torque down at 2500 - 3000 is quite low, and you could usefully allow the engine better breathing by uprating to say a T3 60 or Super 60 trim compressor with a T31 turbine in a 0.48 A/R exhaust housing. This will all bolt right up with what you have, and you can enjoy some more power. Admittedly fuelling you would need to sort.

So will keep it like it's ........
It's quick enough .... Did a few sprint against a Megane RS 225 and we are even...
If want to be quick I will take my Renault 5 GTT 1.8 16V Turbo :P
