Rattle can engine enamel .You can get it from most factors .It is petrol resistant  I quite like dressing the oily bits .
I will leave the outsides to Andy though 8) Got Mr Smiths here in the flesh and it's a very shiny thing but I'm bobbing myself every time I walk past it with an axle stand .........
Assembled and ready to all go back in soon .I need to lube up the cams and rocker gear for run in + get the flywheel refaced as the old friction plate was down to the rivets .

Looking good Lee.

Looks very similar to a red car that I know of

So what's the injector size this is running? No chargecooler then?
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Your old/new 240cc .Maxed out so 10 psi MAX please Teg  Anymore than 10 and we're at max duty on them .
No CC .It has high lift cam ,turbo ,injectors and Renix mod to suit .

No two are the same .I think there is a bit more to come from the Red car but lets just get them all back down South and used for a while first

You know they're 214cc injectors not 240cc?!?

Good power for those.... hence why I asked. Depends which pressure you're running in the fuel rail I guess.

Also nice cold day. Bit of rubbish trivia for you, but the Jag XJ220 was said to make up to 60 bhp more (yep 60) on a cold day compared to a hot one.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Wanted: larger set of injectors ;)

The results look great, so is that 232hp or am I reading it wrong?

My thanks to you and Martin (and Peter) for doing this in the inclement weather. I note your point about 10psi max. Did Martin manage to sort out the fuel pump constantly priming?

Presume the car is back at yours now? I will keep an eye on the weather and see first opportunity to pick it up... what's the weather like with you now?

Hmm, the replacement I purchased (for the one that was duff) was 240cc. In which case, I will definitely look for a larger set if they're now a bottleneck.

Unrelated news: set of 6 injectors for sale

240 at 3 bar but yes 214 rated at 2.5 which is what is sometimes quoted .
We could twat the fuel reg to up the pressure but as I say lets just leave it at that for now till you both see how the go
I'm sure Martin will review both results and give his mussings when he gets in .Bit of a long trawl back for him I fear .

Errr not checked on the pump .Pretty sure he pulled in a basemap from one that behaved then dropped in your final map before I left .Didn't check ,too busy sliding down the slope ........
Car back at the unit .Snowed in ,wheelspin city and slip sliding away all over .Return journey was a bit hairy ...especially as it had a lot more power than before .
Peak power at lump 275 with about 40 odd transmission losses so yeh 230 ish atw .

We hit the wall at about 270 ....After that you need to look at more engine/head/exhaust header mods and then it steps up a few notches in both test and folding .
Darrens car has the bigger injectors and can run more boost but we reach about the same power levels .His CC set-up stops him losing horses due to heat but doesn't actually ' give ' him more .
If you look at Will's results you'll see about the same and this is where it stops .He also has the higher lift cam etc etc .

We now have a lot of back to back results so I'm 100% these results are repeatable and a true limit in this state of tune .

Yep that would explain it as they're 214 at the lower quoted fuel pressure so would be approx 240 as you say with it set higher.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Hi both,

Yep, good day, tired though with the trip back. I can well imagine your trip back up from Peter's was a tad interesting, was bad enough for me to find grip.

Teglen wrote:Did Martin manage to sort out the fuel pump constantly priming?

I did't have the chance to write the maps into a new base binary as there was a fair bit of time pressure, and didn't want to introduce possibility of error. However, there were no bit errors on a byte compare in terms of the base firmware. If it still happens I will off-line in slow time, extract the map data in to a base file, test it, and get it to you - you can easily swap the EPROM in the ecu.

Darren, the charge cooler does introduce pressure losses that the compressor has to operate at a higher duty point to over come. However, as you know there are benefits.

Good day Lee, definitely worth making the trip.

Martin
