.
As above, please vote away, I would like to ask with JohnC's permission if we can have an eBook with all JohnC's electrical posts, what do all you folk think? ...

I think it would be great, "The collective thoughts and wisdom of JohnC" 8)

I was only thinking a similar thing yesterday, I was thinking a forum for technical tips or solutions to problems. My idea was that only solutions to problems should be posted not questions, these could be raised on other forums. What I am suggesting is that useful posts for common or particularly difficult problems have a link identifying to the relevant post. This would be for all mechanical or electrical issues. This would help people find relevant technical help a lot more easily.

TBH I had not given this in-depth thought and there maybe a lot better way of doing this; what I am really saying is technical help needs to be dealt with overall; both mechanical and electrical.

John,

No it wasn't a joke, I was dead serious, I think the wealth of knowledge you have massed with your electrical posts is worth collating into an easy searchable ebook, would be a great asset. If the club isn't smart enough to do it, then someone should. The extras you have done in the members only section could be included in the purchased option. This forum and the data could be lost and we are reliant on the precious few...

For example if someone else wanted the current ratings of the cables etc, how the hell are they supposed to use the wild search facility on this site to know that you had put up the answer in a thread about relays?...

So I'm not that clever to make this up as some smart kind of joke, and actually appreciate the value you have brought, but it could be made more accessible... I was going to post in the general section, the thought was triggered by you answering my post and giving me the answer I needed.. But then thought no I should put this where it isn't going to go out of mind, pushed down by our most prolific thread generator in the gen section - the Oilman...

So my question remains ... Come on peeps, there must be a solution...

Thanks,
Martin
