A310 Turbo

Postby alp_renx » Sat May 25, 2013 8:00 am

Thank you for a good forum everyone.

Been hanging around from time to time and just wanted to post a few pictures of my 310 Turbo conversion.
Its a 1986 GTA Turbo engine inside an 1980 A-310

Engine is all original with Devil exhaust. Running very well. About 15 years since the conversion was done.

Your one could be like that, if you did not waste your time on Purple Frankies

I like what you done with the engine cover, I have been thinking about doing that to my car for a while now.

On this one it was required as the inlet manifoils are higher compared to the old carburettor engine, so in order to close the rear hatch it had to be cut open.

Certainly a neat plumbing job and must have taken some careful planning to make it all fit. The battery obviously had to move to make room for the turbo, presumably a new platform for it where the spare wheel used to sit. Nice installation.

They are 15" Image Wheels

Battery is still situated in the rear, on an custom alloy platform mounted on right inner wing.

My A310V6 has 13" wheels, which I'd like to keep, but can only find one source for rear tyres which are very expensive.
Might investigate 15" also. What sizes do you use front and rear?

Don't remember rim withs but i use 195/50-15 front and 225/50-15 rear.
Rear dimention is close to too narrow for the rear rims, but i like the look of it this way and tire pattern noesn't stick outside of wheel arches (not allowed in this country) + easy dimention to find (at least it used to be). It sticks to the road with these, no problem. Also have Koni lowering kit on it.

Very nice indeed, I like that.

PS: Spotted the R20 in the background, or is it a R30 ?.
