Spider UK cup race car
This is a Renault Spider uk cup race car. Raced by Ray Macdowall in the Spider cup series in the late 90's and run by Team Parker Racing. I have owned this car for 4 years and have competed in sprints for 2 years and raced last year in the SEMSEC race series based at Lydden covering very little mileage in the past few years.
This is a full UK spec car (LHD) which comes with Penske dampers all round as well as a Sadev 6 speed sequential gearbox with flat shift gear change. The drivers harness was new in 2011 and the fire extinguisher was serviced the same time. The car is being sold with a removable passenger seat with harness (out of date) and the period rigid tonneau cover as used in the race series at the time. The Penske dampers have been serviced within the past 2 years and the engine cam belt has also been replaced along with the starter motor and alternator. The suspension has been stripped and inspected following every other race weekend and parts replaced as necessary and the gearbox oil and engine oil has been changed 3 times a year since I have owned the car. Car will come with original trophy OZ 16"wheels (as in photo's)with Michelin wet tyres along with a set of Team Dynamics 17" wheels with Dunlop slicks (fronts almost at end of life). I will also supply 2 centre composite floor panels as the ones on the car are slightly damaged.
The car is in "as raced" condition, hence although no body damage, the paintwork on the front in particular is stone chipped and there are various small cracks in the fibreglass body which is quite the norm for these cars. There is also some paint damage where logo's and other stickers have been removed. The gear display has some faulty segments which intermittently do not work when cold but are fine once the unit is warmed up. With 185 bhp and around 850kg with superb handling its still a good race car and a fantastic track day car.
