Right, since last update i have been busy (slowly but surely)

Decided to change the head gaskets, so took the heads off

As you can see there was standing water in cylinder 2 and 6.

Needed to inspect the liners so took everything apart

Piston rings, liners seal and shells need to be replaced, liners 1,3,4,5 are good but need honing, liners 2 & 6 are fecked and need replacing.

In the meantime, both heads were skimmed and head height matched.


Couple of weekends ago, Martin Faulks helped me seal the new set of valves on the heads.

While i was busy with the inlet valves, same seat angle but later valve design for better flow (new on left)

Martin was busy grinding the exhaust seats to match the new exhaust valves (new on left with reduced seat angle for better flow)

Cedric... that exhaust valve has got dirt on the seat, hope you cleaned it before you put it back in?! :lol:

Quick update:

3 off my liners were unusable and luckily Martin had 3 lying about :D Thanks Martin! So finally have a decent set, now cleaned and honed

Cedric,

Here's a better picture of the modified exhaust valves, if you are going to give my secrets away, at least make them look half decent! LOL :mrgreen:

Request for Cedric, has anybody got a set of new OE 2.5ltr turbo piston rings? I've checked, and I have nothing... This is to help Cedric as he has 2nd and oil control rings he can use, just his supplier sent him the wrong top ring in his set and still waiting the replacement... French suppliers... ;-)
