Green A610 For Sale

Postby mellowyellowa610 » Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:56 pm

£19,950. Seems fair as its a nice car. Considering the rarity of Alpine's, the price actually is pretty reasonable as most comparable supercars values are going through the roof at the moment.

Hi chaps, play nicely....!
Price? I was expecting this to come up! They seem to go for circa 30k euros over the water, and considering just how few nice ones ever come up for sale, it feels right. Heck, I saw an X1/9 knocked down for around £18k last week! Cossies are up to £60k nowadays...

To be fair prices of classic cars have been rising considerably for a few years now. Alpines seem to have been forgotten about. It's probably due to the low volumes changing hands and the fact that they never really got into the public's mind when when new. The GTA is criminally undervalued. It'll take someone paying for a featured ad on piston heads or something with some nice pics and pushing the asking price up and maybe interest will increase. Just look at what Integrales go for. Alpines have become bargain basement by comparison now.

It is about time they started to go up in value, however if it didn't sell at £15k it may struggle at £19k. It looks a super car and I like the colour a lot. Hope it goes to a good home.

It's a lack of true racing pedigree for the GTA... so no dreams attached, except that of enjoying dodgy electrics, and osmosis :toilet lol :D

Its interesting to see how peoples observations fall into one of two camps, and I guess its reflective of peoples experiences of Alpine ownership. A tired old example run on a shoestring is going to cause you problems. But an well maintained example will give unlimited joy. Those who look after their cars and use them regularly love them to bits. Mellow has actually seen the car, so thanks for your comments!

I did briefly try to sell it late last year with a few jobs that needed doing in my view. So I took the decision to sort them all out. Hence the new paint to the front and top (why paint all of it if it doesn't need doing?!), wheels, tyres etc... Hence also the new price! I fully expect this to go to France where they do seem to appreciate them a little more fully, which is a shame really because there does seem to be so few of them left over here.

Expert inspection advised in all cases :A310 :GTA :A610

But paint and wheels still sell cars better than owt else :crazy :thinking
I've had 5 610's in over the last two years and regardless of purchase price they all needed work in the same areas to a greater or lesser extent .I think the price is where it should be but I wouldn't be buying one as an investment just yet ...without going into details just nose through my 610 projects and do the sums .... :RATS

I work on the basis if a car doesn't have any serious enquiries after a week it's not the right price. When I advertised mine last year or was it two? can't remember (short term memory loss) I had two enquiries the first day and in total about 15 by the end of the first week.

Well it's made the front page of Pistonheads so the editorial team seem to have noticed:
