That interior looks amazingly worn for something that has supposedly only done 55,000 miles. I don't suppose the speedo stopped working at any point :thinking

There's a couple of nice white ones on ebay at the moment or there's Lee's one with all the major work done.

Unless someone is buying it from the continent or planning to shift it over to the French then it seems an oddball.

This guy specialises in bringing cars back from Japan, he previously brought a yellow LHD Venturi 260 back from there. Mind you the Japanese had put Ferrari 348 style wheels on it and redone the interior with racing seats and a suede type of material, they also replaced the wood veneer with a matt black on the dash board and doors. I met the bloke up at the Cholmondley Pageant of Power a few years back when he had the car and he seemed genuine enough.

The Japanese always specify their new prestige imports as LHD to pose in, it appears there is kudos in driving LHD prestige motors in the Land of the Rising Sun :crazy

Yep I'm sure he's being genuine, but with that level of wear I'd question the mileage when there's no supporting paperwork / service record to back it up.

The Japanese love a LHD car as you say - it seems exotic and shows that you have the cash to import a car from Europe, even if they drive on the same side as us and it's therefore totally illogical. Weird.

I agree the level of wear on the seats does not seem to match the mileage to us British enthusiasts who would regularly and lovingly treat the leather. However judging by the Japanese imports I have seen including that yellow Venturi 260, 2 x Porsche 911's, 1 x 944 and other rice rockets they seem to be less interested in the condition of the interior than the mechanicals etc.

Judging by the quality of leather on the seats of my Venturi and the Le Mans I had, this and the neglect that the interior may have been subject to it is possible the mileage and condition of the seats do match up.

Just a suggestion, as we have both remarked the Japanese do have different ideas to the British.

ahhh .....but ...you could argue that they are cheap to import because the paint and interiors are clap so the Japanese don't want them .
