Engine mount

Postby Miles » Wed Apr 08, 2015 7:51 pm

Any advice on changing engine mounts would be appreciated.
I have managed to remove the Lhs but am unable to get the new one to fit.
Question is it best to mount to chassis or engine first?

Miles,
Not yet, snowed under at work, but once the dust settles and I get the car behaving hopefully sort out something. These mounts are a pain in the butt haha Knew they were worth changing while engine was out. Top tip if you take your engine out change mounts, insist on it haha or B enjoy the delights of the krypton factor too.

If you are really struggling then you can shorten the threaded rod that enters the frame .Nut goes quite a way past it so use a nyloc and you'll be fine .

Thanks Lee,
I should have updated the post.
Richard Walsh gave me some sound advice last night on how to go about it and yes I did suggest to him cutting down the threads as they protrude excessively.
So that's probably the route I will be going down, along with patience.
The main problem stems from the engine block attachment bolts which appear to be stuck fast.
