That's not that bad, The French certainly knew about rust prevention. This is bad :o

:wtf That's certainly going to make Lee feel a lot better :up

I need a pair of steering rack mount brackets, brake servo bolts all snapped + bits and bobs but it's all stripped/exposed ready to ship next door when Mark finishes the LHD sill repairs ...then I have Greg's turbo to go in after that .
Water pipes I'm told have been collected and just waiting on the Chicken Shack Pony Express to get them up here with some other goodies .

Sorry mate can't help you with those bits, managed to retrieve mine even though it was that rusty. Plus I didn't use the old servo as it was just about rusted through so I changed it for the MX5 one it's an easy conversion and they are cheap and plentiful plus thay work well. and I was making a complete new plate, as the locating bolts are at a slightly different angle. Believe it or not it passed an MOT one months before this only found it as I was changing the brake pads.

Can well believe it passed MOT as they are not allowed to remove anything and it all lies beneath ....just goes to show ...expert inspection advised ;)
This one is not too bad in reality, turrets and sills look good apart from one jacking point .

I'll have to donate some nut splitters to rats...too late now for my brake servo... :silent
lee asked me this morning if I really wanted the fibreglass taken off to reveal the cross member, part of me regrets the decision...you can't see it, passes mot etc...but as the steering rack and brake servo both mount to this I'm now glad that I did.
Now I realise what a huge job custard did on his, it does make me feel better, at least the back end and sills of mine are sound....
Yes it's going to cost more but I suspect that there are many more out there with this lurking unseen and at least I'll know this one is safe afterwards.
Now anyone want to buy some nice new A610 parts.....
:angel

Thanks Lee, to save our cars it's not that big a job to find out what's going on in the front box section. It is also probably the most important part structurally on the car as it carries all the front suspension and all the breaking motion and cornering stresses so it needs to get sorted. It does not matter whether the car is been sitting in the garaged or has never got wet it's all to do with temperature change and sweating between the fibre glass and the metal. All that needs to happen is to drill two holes in the top through the fibre glass and metal, and then put a camera in to see see what the situation is, if it is not that bad you could then spray wax oil inside the box section to stop it going any further.

Get an mx5 one thay are about £50 or less, you just reduce the size of the pin to the right length, and alter the shaft to the pedal, thay are much better than the original.
