Winter storage advice

Postby Keith Hall » Thu Sep 17, 2015 8:16 pm

The nights are drawing in and it's time for me to think about how to store the Spider over the winter period.

It will be taxed and insured over Winter so could take it out on the occasional blast if I had to

It's being stored in a Garage obviously but without any electricity

Any tips or advice you want to share, greatly appreciated! :up

Winter storage advice

Postby kett » Sat Sep 19, 2015 2:51 pm

Hi Keith,

I think that I would be weary about taking it out for winter jaunts unless you could guarantee that it would be returned to it's unheated garage in a bone-dry state.

The battery should be trickle charged to preserve it - maybe you'll have to temporarily remove it.

Whacking up the tyre pressures and weekly rolling is supposed to prevent unwanted deforming of tyres.

Watch out for mice!

To keep the interior fresh, and to keep the mice out.... Place a "Bounch" dryer sheet in the car... The mice don't like them, plus it keeps the damp out.. well the smell!!

I bought one of these - http://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/MXS%205.0

£59 quid and it's very good. Smart sensing - keeps the battery conditioned.
I'm just here for the gasoline.
