Yes that's the one (Chris Corry). The reg plate looks familiar and it looks the same as the red Turbo up in Newcastle that was on Pistonheads until recently.

Clee - Are you still in touch with that guy, is it the same guy that had the Borbets? Maybe we could get in touch with him so he could provide info/pics on how they are mounted?

Not got his details any longer .I don't know if it had the belt mod .He did have the Borbets and was up for sale recently for about 4k ?

There might be enough room behind the trim outside side bottom for a reel .If there is it would look bob on with just a top mount to sort to the roll bar .
I can mock it all up on JIL at some stage .Though I'm not sure how we stand with testing/safety/actuation .
Perhaps I just get a big daft crash test dummy and slam the anchors on

I looked at the requirement for seatbelt anchors..iirc....needed to withstand 14kN applied for 0.2 seconds...which by my reckoning is the equivalent static weight of hanging a GTA with 2 fat passenger by the anchors.....I have a sketch on an envelope on how we could test this...difficult to describe but it involves strong rope and pulley mounted on the edge of the cliff.

If the fat passengers start to scream within 0.2 seconds then it is back to the drawing board. If there is no screaming after 0.2 seconds then we have over engineered...though given the test maybe a good idea.

No need for seatbelt test rigs.

I just had static 3 point seatbelts done at quickfitsbs (thanks Jules for the pointer) on my 88 turbo
Apparently this time they found a boss on both sides for a 7/16 seatbelt anchor.
..The last car they did 2 weeks back (Jules) had only one boss (another 88 turbo I think)..but they can install an anchor point and seat belt regardless. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the seatbelt bosses..if that is what they are.

It took them about 2 or 3 hours. All in with VAT £360 as per Jules.Image

I'll probably go back with the atmo too...though I did ask them about inertia reels coming from the centre (given no ECU)..but it would be more involved.. Some sort of plate in bulkhead I guess...and some cutting of the centre panel..though I have a spare ECU cover..

Very pleased by this as I had been trying to get this done for a while now. (I updated this old thread as the other one had A610 as a title..but was actually a GTA)

Thanks..you can relax now...no more pestering from me about seat belts...

My kids may be less enthusiastic about these seatbelts though..we'll see...

It does mean the GTA can function as a family car now..I even put my spare back in the engine bay so I have some boot space.
