Andrew Holt - Missing?

Bit of a strange request. Has anyone seen or heard from him recently.

He is no longer online or returning calls or emails?

Also does anyone have contact details for Antoine from Dynohouse (website down!) as he was supposed to be installing a new ECU and tuning etc.

He has had my car now for over 8 weeks of what was supposed to be a 4-5 week job but as of last week not a lot seemed to have actually been done to the car. He also has my money for the work but the level of progress and communication has severely diminished over the last few weeks and now complete radio silence.

Hopefully it's a simple explanation but clearly as he has my car and cash I am somewhat frustrated by the situation and will act quickly to address it if I need to.

Anyone heard from him recently?

This is now the subject of a dispute with Andrew Holt.

By way of background. He claimed he was an expert - inspected the car and provided a detailed quote of €8k to primarily upgrade the ECU and map the throttle bodies with upgrades to the wheels/brakes. He suggested a timescale of 4-5 weeks. I was comfortable with the amount and timescale.

He was paid and the car was collected.

Progress has been tediously slow so with weeks upon weeks of silence or lame excuses for no contact or lack of completion.

Now some 5 months later Andrew Holt claims the car is ready but refuses to return the car unless I pay another €8k for additional work that was not included in the original expert quote. I have obviously not seen any work done to the car so have no idea of the nature/quality of the work done. I actually understand some of this work/parts and would gladly pay for these on delivery once I had seen and tested the car which was our original agreement but he thinks he can change that and hold the car as ransom.

What I did not sign up for or accept is a piece of work which has taken 4 times as long and cost double the original quote and all to be paid for before I get to see the car – if this has been presented at the outset then I would not have engaged Andrew Holt in any work at all.

Andrew Holt's stance is now that he will not return the car until the amount is paid in full leaving me no opportunity to see the result of the upgrades/remap. Given his conduct to date I am not convinced he will return the car even if I paid the amount as I know he has other debts and his behaviour has been erratic. It has got to the stage where I do not trust him and suspect he has not used the original funds for their intended purposes.

Therefore I am not paying anything further until the car is returned as otherwise I could have wasted €16k and still be without car.

Can I suggest that anyone who wants to do any business with Andrew Holt does a bit of investigation work first as there is obviously a surprising number of people who are owed money by him.

When you pay for goods and services you expect them to be used for that purpose and not to be used to pay down existing debts.

I think this situation is really sad......

I'm sure that Andy has numerous issues to deal with but I can't understand why he has gone "underground" and has taken this stance with David and his car, along with the Macon money that he has as well.

I'd like to see Andy come forward and deal with this in a professional manner but suspect that it's unlikely to happen
