Massive Upgrade Time

Postby SuperSean » Sun Apr 30, 2017 10:16 am

Hey guys... just a heads up that we are currently working on a massive update of the site and forums.

The phpbb3 software that runs the site has come to the end of its version maintenance and needs desperately to be updated.
Due to phpbb's extremely long update cycle (it hasnt had a major update in 10 years) and the fact that the and modifications to the forum (membership, galleries, downloads etc) are often abandoned by their authors and impossible to maintain, its well past time for us to migrate to a more stable platform.

Moving to Joomla.
moving away from phpbb means selecting a new platform. The platform we've chosen is Joomla, a content management system that will allow us to built a kick ass site.

This means that all the current forum posts, attachments, users members etc all needs to be migrated over.
For security reasons however, you will need to use the password reset feature before you are able to log in.

We will advise you further of the changes before we make them, or if you would like to help test and ply with the new site, let us know - we could use your help.

Note to forum mods :
Please contact Vince or myself via MP for login details so you can test the new moderation tools before we go live.
